After the last Roman soldier left Enland in 410AD, Britain was then invaded by Anglo-Saxons from the North Sea (although some early Saxon settlements were on the Southern coastline as early as 280AD).
These peoples included Germans, Danish and Dutch.
Most Anglo-Saxons worshipped pagan Gods and goddesses and were a superstitious race; however after St Augustine arrived in 597AD they gradually embraced the Christian religion.
Most jewellery items were made from Bronze, although iron and gold pieces have been found.
